Brighton Film School Day 1

"Film is an illusion - trust me, it's not real." Franz von Habsburg

I always thought of Film Schools as places where film buffs hang out together, smoke and watch films all day long. Well, that's pretty much what it's like but there is also a lot of work, thinking, taking notes and apparently Maths. Sh... Next time we even have to bring a calculator. Why? I am sure I'll find out.

The course is only going on for 12 weeks and, therefore, we are going to make a One Minute Movie. Over the next three month the 3 readers of this blog will find out more about the project.

For next weeks lesson we have to come up with an idea for a one minute movie and pitch it to the class. The idea has to include the following four objects: an apple, trainers (British for sneakers. I know – they are so funny :) a watch and a banjo. Please don’t ask it’s a long story.

So far I am thinking slow motion Kung Fu fights between the CEOs of Asics and Puma, a 5 foot Mutant Zombie Apple trying to destroy the world and a Joaquin look-alike playing a banjo version of 'Can you feel the love tonight' but I am not sure how to bring in the watch. Well, it is going to be a tough week. Suggestions are more than welcome.
